What the Foam Pit Does
Without a pit, foam goes everywhere — across the lawn, onto the driveway, into areas you don't want it. The foam pit creates a defined foam zone: a 26-foot octagonal arena where foam collects and guests play. Aim your foam machine into the pit from a stand or elevated position and the inflatable walls keep the foam contained where the action is.
Why Operators Use It
| Benefit |
Detail |
| Foam containment |
Keeps foam in one area instead of spreading across the venue — cleaner setup, faster cleanup |
| Defined play zone |
Gives guests a clear "foam zone" to enter — creates a focal point and keeps people organized |
| Safe walls |
Inflatable walls are soft — no hard edges, no injuries from bumping or falling into the barrier |
| Crowd capacity |
26 feet across — plenty of room for large groups to play simultaneously |
| Professional presentation |
A foam pit transforms an event from "there's a foam machine in the yard" to a proper foam party arena |
| Fast setup |
Inflates in minutes with the included blower — no tools, no assembly, no frame to build |

Complete Foam Party Rig
Here's what a full professional foam party setup looks like:
How big is 26 feet?
Think slightly smaller than a standard backyard above-ground swimming pool. It's roughly the size of a large trampoline park zone. At 26 feet across with an octagonal shape, it provides well over 500 square feet of play area — enough for large groups to be inside simultaneously.
Does the blower have to run the whole time?
Yes. The pit is a continuous-inflation design. The blower runs the entire time the pit is in use to keep the walls inflated. When you're done, open the zipper vent and the pit deflates quickly for packing.
Can people lean on the walls?
Yes — the inflatable walls are soft and designed for contact. People will bump into them, lean on them, and push against them during foam events. That's the point. Unlike hard barriers (fencing, wooden walls), inflatable walls absorb impact safely.
How do I anchor it?
The pit has D-ring tie-downs at the base of each section. On grass or soft ground, use the included ground spikes. On hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt), use sandbags attached to the D-rings instead. Always anchor the pit — foam events get energetic and an unsecured pit can shift.
Does it have a floor?
No — the pit is walls only, with no floor. This is by design. Foam is water-based, and a floor would turn the pit into a slippery pool. Without a floor, water drains straight through into the ground, guests stand on natural surfaces with better traction, and cleanup is significantly easier. Position the pit on grass for natural drainage, or on a hard surface with a planned runoff path.
How do people get in and out?
The pit has a Velcro-sealed entrance panel that can be opened for easy access or removed entirely during the event. Most operators leave it open so guests can flow in and out freely.
Can I use it indoors?
The pit itself works indoors, but remember — foam events produce a lot of water. Indoor foam events require waterproofing for the floor and a drainage plan. Most foam pits are used outdoors on grass where drainage is natural.
How does it pack up?
Open the zipper vent to deflate, fold it up, and stuff it into the included carry bag. The whole unit weighs about 45 lbs packed — one person can carry it. No special vehicle needed for transport.
Does the foam machine come with this?
No. This is the containment pit only. You need a foam machine (Maxx V2 or Pro-X) and foam solution to run a foam party.
Setup (Under 10 Minutes)
Unpack the pit from the carry bag and lay it flat on your chosen surface. Make sure the area is clear of sharp objects — rocks, sticks, broken glass — that could puncture the vinyl. Close all zipper vents, connect the blower, and power it on. The pit inflates in 3–5 minutes. Once inflated, anchor the D-rings with ground spikes (grass) or sandbags (hard surfaces). Open the Velcro entrance panel and you're ready.
Positioning Your Foam Machine
For the best foam coverage, position your foam machine on the Telescoping Stand with the Mount at the edge of the pit, aimed inward and slightly downward. Elevating the machine lets foam arc down into the pit and fill it evenly. A single Maxx V2 can fill a 26' pit. For maximum output, run two machines from opposite sides.
Plan for Drainage
Foam is water-based. A 26-foot pit full of foam means a lot of water collecting at the bottom. Position the pit on grass or a slight slope so water drains naturally. On hard surfaces, plan a runoff path. Don't let the pit sit in standing water for extended periods.
Anchor It — Every Time
A crowd of people leaning, pushing, and playing inside an unanchored pit will move it. Use ground spikes on every D-ring for grass setups. Use sandbags for hard surfaces. This isn't optional — an unsecured pit at a packed event is a problem.
Keep the Blower Protected
The blower runs the entire event. Keep it elevated or shielded so foam runoff and standing water don't reach it. Route the blower power cord through a GFCI extension cord for electrical safety around water.
Post-Event
After the event, let foam dissipate or rinse the pit with clean water. Open the zipper vent to deflate. Wipe down or air-dry the vinyl before folding and storing in the carry bag. Storing the pit wet can lead to mildew — always dry before long-term storage.
