Who the Pro-X Is Built For
The Pro-X is designed for professional foam party operators, event production companies, DJs, venue owners, and rental houses who need a reliable, versatile foam machine that adapts to different event types without carrying multiple machines.
🎉 Foam Parties & Nightlife
The Pro-X is the workhorse behind professional foam parties. Hang it overhead and dump foam onto the dance floor. Start in ooze mode to build the foam pit — ankle-deep, knee-deep, waist-deep — then swap to cannon mode to blast the crowd when the energy peaks. It's the machine that lets you build a foam experience with an arc, not just a constant stream.
🎪 Festivals & Large Outdoor Events
Mount the Pro-X on truss or scaffolding above a foam zone and let it run. The 3/4 HP motor handles extended continuous operation, and the dual netting system means you can create different foam zones at the same festival — ooze pit in one area, cannon blast in another — with the same machine model. For multi-machine setups, the Pro-X's consistent output means every unit matches.
👶 Kids' Events & Family Entertainment
Ooze mode is the kid-friendly side of the Pro-X. Thick, gentle foam that pours and cascades rather than spraying at high velocity. Kids wade in, play, build foam mountains. No high-pressure spray hitting them in the face. When the event is kids during the day and adults at night, swap to cannon mode for the evening crowd without changing machines.
🏊 Pool Parties & Resort Events
Overhead mounting over pool decks and patios creates a foam waterfall effect impossible to replicate with ground-based machines. The foam drops from above, covering the party area naturally.
🎤 Concerts & Productions
Stage-mounted or truss-hung, the Pro-X becomes a production element. Time cannon blasts to music cues. Build foam during transitions and hit the crowd during drops. For operators using the Black Box Injection Blending System, the Pro-X can be triggered remotely via smart plug for precision-timed foam moments.
📋 Rental Fleets
One machine model covers both foam cannon and foam pit rentals — include the appropriate netting for the client's event type, or include both and let them choose. Roto-molded construction handles repeated rental abuse, and the tool-free netting system means clients don't need training to operate it.
What Sets the Pro-X Apart
🔄 Dual Netting System — Two Machines in One
The Pro-X ships with both cannon-style and ooze-style netting. Cannon netting produces light, airy foam that projects outward with distance — spray the crowd, cover the dance floor, create high-energy blast moments. Ooze netting produces thick, heavy foam that cascades and piles up — build foam pits, create immersive environments, fill spaces from the ground up. Swap between them in seconds. No tools, no disassembly. Just slide one off, slide the other on.
⚡ 3/4 HP 2-Speed Blower — 5,200 CFM
The motor is the heart of any foam machine, and the Pro-X runs a 3/4 HP, 2-speed motor pushing 5,200 CFM of directional airflow. That's enough to drive serious foam volume through either netting type. The 2-speed option lets you dial back output when you don't need full power — lower speed for kids' events or controlled builds, full speed for maximum output. Draws only 7 amps on a standard 120V circuit, so you're not tripping breakers or needing dedicated power.
🏗 Overhead Hang Design
The Pro-X is engineered for overhead mounting. Hang it from truss, beams, scaffolding, pergolas — anywhere you can safely support 35 lbs plus the supply hose. Overhead mounting creates the dramatic "foam rain" or "foam waterfall" effect impossible with ground-based machines. The foam falls naturally with gravity instead of fighting it.
No overhead rigging? Use the Pro-X on the ground or elevated on the optional Universal Telescoping Stand — available as a bundle option.
🔧 Roto-Molded Construction
The housing is high-impact roto-molded plastic — the same construction method used in heavy-duty coolers, kayaks, and road cases. It handles drops, bumps, rain, and the general abuse of event production and rental cycles. Safety screens on all vents prevent debris from entering the motor. Water-resistant power switch for outdoor operation in variable conditions.
🚗 Built to Move
4 lockable wheels for rolling across venues. Built-in carrying handles on both sides for two-person lifts. Pull strap for dragging across rough surfaces. At 35 lbs, one person can manage it — but the handles make overhead rigging lifts easy with two.
🔌 Standard Connections — No Adapters Needed
The solution intake uses a standard 3/4" garden hose thread (GHT) connection — the same thread as every garden hose, utility pump, and hose fitting in North America. No proprietary connections, no adapters, no special fittings. Connect your utility pump output hose directly to the machine. The 15-foot power cord gives you reach without needing an extension cord for most setups.
🎨 Replacement Netting in 5 Colors
When your netting wears out or you want to brand your machine, replacement cannon netting is available in Yellow (stock), Hot Pink, Orange, Red, and Blue. Ooze-style replacement netting also available. See Foam Machine Parts & Accessories.

⚠ Not Included: The Pro-X requires a foam solution supply system to operate. You'll need foam concentrate, water, a mixing container (barrel), a submersible pump, and a garden hose to connect the pump to the machine. See the Pairs With tab for the full equipment list, or check the bundle options on this listing for package deals.
Setup Overview
Step 1 — Mix Your Solution
Fill your mixing barrel with water. Add Ready to Run foam concentrate at the recommended 75:1 ratio (water to concentrate). Stir thoroughly. For a 53-gallon barrel, that's approximately 53 gallons of water and ~9 oz of concentrate. The mix ratio directly affects foam quality — too little concentrate means thin, watery foam. Too much wastes product with minimal benefit.
Step 2 — Connect the Pump
Drop your submersible utility pump into the barrel of mixed solution. Connect the pump's output hose to the Pro-X's 3/4" GHT intake fitting. Use a standard garden hose — no adapters needed. Make sure the hose run is as short and straight as practical to maximize flow.
Step 3 — Mount the Machine
For overhead setups: Hang the Pro-X from truss, beams, or overhead structure using appropriate rigging hardware (rated for the machine weight plus hose weight). Point the barrel/netting downward toward the foam zone. For ground setups: Set the machine on the ground or mount it on the Universal Telescoping Stand and aim the barrel toward the target area.
Step 4 — Install the Netting
Choose your netting — cannon for projected spray, ooze for cascading buildup. Slide the netting over the barrel and secure it. No tools required. If you're not sure which mode to start with, ooze is the safer default for most events — you can always swap to cannon later.
Step 5 — Power On
Plug the Pro-X into a GFCI-protected outlet (required for outdoor use near water). Turn on the pump first to establish solution flow, then power on the blower. Foam output begins immediately. Use the 2-speed switch to control output intensity — low speed for controlled buildup, high speed for maximum volume.
💡 First-Time Setup Tip: Do a dry run before your first paid event. Set everything up in your driveway, backyard, or warehouse. Test both nettings. Practice the swap. Verify your pump flow rate and hose connections. Run it for 15 minutes and get comfortable with the machine's output at both speeds. The 15 minutes you invest in practice will save you 15 minutes of fumbling in front of a crowd.
The Complete Foam Operation
The Pro-X is the machine — but a foam party is a system. Here's everything that connects to it, feeds it, and makes the foam experience better.
Required Equipment
Foam Solution — Ready to Run →
The fuel. Concentrated foam solution mixed with water at 75:1 ratio. This is what makes the foam. The netting creates the structure, the blower creates the airflow, but the solution creates the actual bubbles. Fresh, properly mixed solution is the single biggest factor in foam quality. One bottle treats multiple barrels depending on size.
Utility Pump →
Transfers mixed solution from your barrel to the Pro-X at 1,800 GPH — continuous duty, submersible. Drop it in the barrel, connect the hose to the machine, and it feeds the Pro-X a steady stream of solution. Without a pump, you have no way to deliver solution to the machine at the volume it needs.
Collapsible 53-Gallon Foam Barrel →
Mix your solution here. Drop the pump in. This is your home base. The collapsible design means it packs flat for transport and pops up on site. 53 gallons of mixed solution keeps the Pro-X running for extended periods before needing a refill.
Recommended Add-Ons
Universal Telescoping Stand →
For ground-based setups where you don't have overhead rigging. Elevates the Pro-X for better throw distance (cannon mode) or wider coverage area (ooze mode). Available as a bundle option on this listing.
Cannon-Style Replacement Netting →
Replacement cannon netting in 5 colors — Yellow (stock), Hot Pink, Orange, Red, Blue. For when your original wears out, you want a spare, or you want to brand your machine. Ooze-style replacement netting also available.
Upgrade the Foam Experience
Foam Color Additive →
Tint the foam any color. Add to your solution before running. Neon colors under stage lights turn a foam party into a visual production.
Lumos Dust UV Glow Powder →
Makes the foam glow neon green under blacklight. Add to your solution. Cannon mode spraying glowing foam across a dark venue is a showstopper.
200W Blacklight 2-Pack →
Required for UV-reactive foam to glow. Mount blacklights aimed at your foam zone and the Lumos Dust does the rest.
Scented Solution →
Add fragrance to the foam. Available in multiple scents. Cannon mode carries scented foam through the air where the fragrance reaches further.
The Black Box — Injection Blending System →
Advanced foam production control. The Black Box automates solution blending and includes smart plug integration for remote triggering. Time your Pro-X foam blasts from your phone — precision-timed cannon drops synced to music cues.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Pro-X and the Foam Blaster Maxx?
The Pro-X and the Maxx are different machines designed for different use cases. The Pro-X is an overhead hang/dump machine with a convertible dual netting system — it does both cannon and ooze from one unit. The Maxx is a different platform with a different barrel, netting system (quick-release retaining clamp), and housing. They are not cross-compatible for netting or parts. If you need dual-mode versatility and overhead mounting, the Pro-X is the machine. Check both product pages to determine which fits your operation.
Does the Pro-X come with a stand?
No. The Pro-X is designed primarily as an overhead hang/mount machine — foam drops or dumps down onto the crowd from above. A stand or mount bracket is not included by default because most professional operators rig it overhead. However, stands and mount options are available as bundle add-ons on this listing. If you need a ground-based setup, select the bundle option that includes the Universal Telescoping Stand.
What do I need to run the Pro-X?
The Pro-X requires an external foam solution supply system. At minimum you need: 1) Foam concentrate (Ready to Run), 2) Water, 3) A mixing container (barrel or tank), 4) A submersible pump (Utility Pump), and 5) A garden hose to connect the pump to the machine. Plus a GFCI-protected power outlet. The machine itself ships ready to run — you just need the solution delivery system.
How does the dual netting system work?
The Pro-X ships with two different nettings. Cannon netting creates light, airy foam that projects outward with distance — it sprays across the crowd. Ooze netting creates thick, heavy foam that cascades and stacks — it fills spaces from the ground up. To switch: turn off the machine, slide the current netting off the barrel, slide the other netting on, turn the machine back on. The entire swap takes seconds. No tools, no hardware, no disassembly.
Can I use it on the ground instead of overhead?
Yes. While the Pro-X is designed for overhead mounting, it works on the ground or on a stand. Ground-based cannon mode sprays foam forward into the crowd. Ground-based ooze mode piles foam at the base of the machine and builds outward. For ground setups, elevating the machine on the Universal Telescoping Stand significantly improves both throw distance (cannon) and coverage area (ooze) because gravity works with the foam instead of against it.
How much foam solution do I need?
It depends on how long you're running and which netting you're using. Ooze mode consumes solution somewhat faster than cannon mode because the foam is denser and wetter. As a rough guideline: one 53-gallon barrel of mixed solution (at 75:1 ratio) provides extended runtime. For a typical 2–3 hour foam party, plan for at least one full barrel and have extra concentrate on hand for refills. Better to over-prepare than to run dry mid-event.
How loud is it?
It's an industrial 3/4 HP blower — not silent. In a foam party environment with music and crowd noise, the blower is negligible. In a quiet residential backyard, it's noticeable. The 2-speed switch lets you run lower power for reduced noise. Position the blower side away from guests when possible.
Can I use any foam solution?
We strongly recommend SurgeFX Ready to Run foam concentrate — it's formulated specifically for foam machines and produces the thick, long-lasting foam the Pro-X is designed to generate. Using dish soap, bubble bath, or off-brand concentrates risks poor foam quality, excessive residue in the netting, and potential damage. Protect your investment — use the right solution.
Is the foam safe?
SurgeFX foam solution is non-toxic and skin-safe when used as directed — the same type of hypoallergenic foam solution used at foam parties worldwide. Standard event safety precautions apply: secure footing surfaces, monitor children, and provide towels and rinse stations. See the included operating instructions for full safety guidelines.
How do I maintain the Pro-X?
After every event: 1) Run clean water through the machine for 2–3 minutes to flush residual solution. 2) Remove and rinse the netting with clean water. 3) Air dry the netting completely before storing. 4) Wipe down the housing and check safety screens for debris. Skipping the post-event flush is the biggest maintenance mistake — dried solution degrades performance over time.
Can I replace the netting?
Yes. Replacement netting is available for both styles. Cannon-style netting comes in 5 colors (Yellow, Hot Pink, Orange, Red, Blue). Ooze-style netting is also available. Netting is the wear item on any foam machine — expect to replace it periodically depending on usage. Carrying a spare of each type is standard practice for professional operators.
What's the warranty?
The Pro-X includes a 1-Year Limited Warranty covering parts and labor against manufacturing defects. If we can't repair it, we replace it with a comparable unit. Prepaid return shipping included on warranty claims. Use recommended fluids and follow the operating guidelines to keep your warranty valid. Full warranty details →
Get the Most Out of Your Pro-X
Height Is Your Best Friend
The Pro-X is designed to work with gravity, not against it. Every foot of elevation increases effective foam coverage. Overhead mounting from truss at 10–15 feet creates a foam cascade covering a massive area below. Even on a stand at 8 feet, results are dramatically better than ground level. Cannon mode gains throw distance; ooze mode gains coverage width as foam spreads while falling. Getting the machine up high is the single biggest performance multiplier.
Plan Your Netting Strategy Before the Event
Don't default to one mode. A typical professional foam party: Ooze mode for the first hour — build the pit, let guests wade in. Swap to cannon at the peak — blast the crowd during the headliner. Optional: swap back to ooze for the cooldown. Having a plan means you're reading the event, not reacting to it.
Pre-Mix More Solution Than You Think You'll Need
Running out of solution mid-event is the most common amateur mistake. For a 2–3 hour event, have at least 1.5× the solution you think you'll need. Pre-mix a second barrel or have extra concentrate and water ready for quick refills. The cost of extra concentrate is trivial compared to a dead machine at a live event.
Flush the System After Every Single Event
Non-negotiable. After the party, disconnect the solution hose, connect a clean water source, and run the machine for 2–3 minutes. Then remove the netting and rinse it separately. Foam solution left in the system dries, hardens, and degrades every component it touches. A 5-minute flush on site saves hundreds in repairs.
Test Your Full Setup Before the First Paid Event
Barrel, pump, hose, machine, netting, power — set it all up and run it. Not in your head. Actually assemble every piece, connect every hose, and run foam for 15–20 minutes. Test both nettings. Practice the swap. Find out if your hose is too short or your extension cord trips the breaker in your driveway, not at a client's event.
Use the 2-Speed Motor Intentionally
Low speed isn't just "less foam" — it produces smaller, tighter, denser bubbles that last longer. High speed maximizes volume and throw distance. For ooze mode, low speed can produce better stacking foam. For cannon mode, high speed maximizes reach. Learn what each speed does with each netting.
Rig Smart — Safety First
When hanging the Pro-X overhead, use hardware rated well above the machine weight (35 lbs + hose weight). Safety cables or secondary attachment points are standard practice — if the primary rigging fails, the safety catches it. If you're not experienced with overhead rigging, hire a rigger or use the ground-based stand setup. No foam effect is worth an unsafe rig.
Position the Barrel Strategically
Your solution barrel needs to be close enough for the pump to deliver adequate flow. Longer hose runs reduce flow rate. Excessive vertical lift (pumping up to a high-mounted machine) also reduces effective flow. Position the barrel as close to directly below the machine as practical, and use the shortest hose run that works. Test your pump's vertical delivery at height before the event.
Coordinate With Your DJ or Production Team
Cannon mode blasts timed to beat drops are exponentially more impactful than random continuous spraying. If you're using the Black Box with smart plug integration, you can trigger the machine from your phone — hand the trigger to the DJ and let them fire the foam cannon in sync with the music.
GFCI Protection Is Not Optional
You're running an electrical machine near water. Always use a GFCI-protected outlet or a portable GFCI adapter for the Pro-X, the pump, and any other electrical equipment in the foam zone. No exceptions. Portable GFCI adapters are under $30 and they prevent electrocution.
