Built for the Bitter Cold. Snow That Keeps Falling When the Temperature Drops.

Snö Polar X is the freeze-resistant formula in the SurgeFX Snö™ snow solution line. Standard snow fluid is made for normal conditions, and when the temperature drops, flake output can drop with it. Polar X is freeze-tested and formulated for colder outdoor conditions, with performance down to 14°F (−10°C).

This is the choice for outdoor winter events, theme parks, holiday displays, winter attractions, film sets and stage productions where the show goes on in freezing weather and the snow has to keep falling.

Water-based and ready to use, with no dilution required. Works indoors and outdoors with professional, commercial and portable snow machines. 1 gallon (3.78 liters).

What Makes Polar X Different

Every Snö formula makes realistic snow. The difference with Polar X is where it can work. Standard snow fluids are designed for normal conditions and can become less reliable in colder weather, with flake output dropping as the temperature falls. Polar X is formulated to resist freezing and help keep flake output consistent in low temperatures, so your outdoor snow effect holds up on the nights it matters most.

  • Stage productions: outdoor stages and open-air shows where the snow cue has to work every time.

Which Snö Formula Do You Need?

The SurgeFX Snö™ line includes ready-to-use formulas and a concentrate. Pick by how long you want the flakes to last, or by how cold it will be.

Formula Character Best For
Snö Polar X ← This Product Freeze-resistant, down to 14°F Outdoor winter events, cold-weather shows
Snö Flurry Fast dissipation Quick cleanup, high-traffic, short scenes

Quick Decision Guide:

How cold can I use it?

Snö Polar X is freeze-tested and performs down to 14°F (−10°C). Below that, keep the fluid and machine warm before the show, or move the effect under cover.

Do I need to mix or dilute this?

No. Use it as-is, straight from the bottle. Pour it into your snow machine's fluid tank and go.

What machines does it work with?

Polar X works with professional, commercial and portable snow machines of all brands and models that use liquid snow fluid, including the SurgeFX Glacious, Arctic Flake 1500W and the rest of our snow machines. It is not for dry ice machines or foam machines.

Can I use it indoors too?

Yes. Polar X is made for indoor and outdoor use. If your event is indoors at room temperature, Snö Drift, Tundra or Flurry let you choose how long the flakes last.

Why does regular snow fluid struggle in the cold?

Standard snow fluid is designed for normal conditions. In colder weather it can become less reliable, and flake output can decrease as the temperature drops. Polar X is formulated for the cold so the effect stays consistent.

Is this the same as foam solution?

No. Snow solution and foam solution are different products for different machines. Do not use foam solution in a snow machine or snow solution in a foam machine.

Store It Ready

Keep the jug capped between uses and store it out of direct sun. On very cold nights, fill the machine just before the show.

Place the Machine Upwind

Outdoors, wind decides where the snow lands. Set the machine upwind of your audience and as high as you safely can (truss, rooftop, balcony) for wider, more natural coverage.

Light It Up

Snow pops under light. Backlighting or side lighting makes every flake visible against a night sky. Cool blue reads as a winter night; warm white and amber feel like the holidays.

Stock Extra for Long Runs

Outdoor holiday shows often run every night for weeks. Plan for several gallons per session and keep backup supply on hand.

Flush After Every Use

Run clean water through your snow machine after each event to keep the pump and lines clear. A clean machine makes better, more consistent flakes.
