VERTICAL FOG JET. 1500W. 27× RGB LEDs. 26–33 FT SPRAY HEIGHT. INSTANT STOP. CO2 JET ALTERNATIVE. DMX / REMOTE / PANEL. NO CO2 TANK NEEDED. ~19 LBS.

The SurgeFX Aurora Jet is a 1500W vertical fog jet machine with 27 × 3W RGB LEDs that produces dramatic, LED-lit fog columns up to 26–33 feet (8–10 m) — delivering the same visual impact as a CO2 jet without the cost or logistics of CO2 tanks. The Aurora Jet's defining feature is its instant-stop technology: when you cut the trigger, the fog column disappears within one second. No lingering haze, no slow dissipation — the column snaps on and off on command. This gives you precise, beat-synced fog bursts that respond to music and lighting cues the way CO2 does, but powered entirely by electricity and fog fluid. Three control modes — DMX512 (8CH), wireless remote, and onboard panel. Multi-orientation mounting: floor standing, truss-hung (inverted), or wall-mounted. At ~19 lbs (8.65 kg) with a built-in carry handle, the Aurora Jet is built for DJs, wedding planners, nightclubs, touring productions, and anyone who wants CO2-style fog jets on a fog-fluid budget.

CO2 Jet Effects — Without the CO2

The Aurora Jet produces towering vertical fog columns that look and behave like CO2 jets — shooting straight up, lighting up with color, and disappearing the instant you release the trigger. Traditional fog machines fill a room with lingering haze. The Aurora Jet does the opposite: it fires a tight, powerful column of fog 26–33 feet (8–10 m) into the air, and when you stop, the fog dissipates within one second. No residual haze, no slow fade. This "instant stop" behavior is what makes it a true CO2 jet alternative — you get the same dramatic on/off visual punch, but you're running on fog fluid and electricity instead of expensive, heavy CO2 tanks.

LED-Lit Fog Columns

27 × 3W RGB LEDs are built into the nozzle and illuminate the fog column from the base as it fires. Full RGB color mixing lets you paint the column any color — match your event palette, sync to your lighting design, or run auto color effects. In dark environments, the combination of a bright fog column and saturated LED color creates a visual effect that rivals CO2 jets at a fraction of the operating cost.

Mount It Anywhere

The Aurora Jet is designed for multi-orientation mounting. Set it on the floor for upward-firing columns. Hang it inverted from truss for downward fog jets over a stage or dance floor. Mount it on a wall for horizontal blasts. The reversible fluid tank prevents leaking in any orientation — the tank mounts at either end of the machine, so fluid feeds correctly whether the unit is right-side-up, upside-down, or sideways.

Who It's For

DJs, nightclubs, wedding planners, touring productions, houses of worship, corporate events, theaters, and haunted attractions. Any venue that wants the dramatic impact of CO2-style fog jets without sourcing, transporting, and paying for CO2 tanks. The Aurora Jet runs on standard fog fluid — available everywhere, affordable, and endlessly refillable. No gas supplier relationships, no tank deposits, no high-pressure hoses.

How It Works

The Aurora Jet heats fog fluid through a 1500W heating element with a dual temperature control system (electronic + mechanical) that maintains precise, consistent heat. When triggered, a 48W full-copper oil pump pushes fluid through the superheated chamber, instantly vaporizing it into a high-velocity vertical fog column. The fog exits through a directional nozzle and shoots 26–33 feet (8–10 m) straight up — a tight, dramatic column, not a slow-spreading cloud.

The key difference from traditional fog machines is what happens when you stop. The Aurora Jet uses fast-dissipating vertical fog fluid specifically designed to break down within seconds of leaving the nozzle. When you release the trigger, the column vanishes within approximately one second. This instant-stop behavior allows you to fire precise, timed bursts — synced to music beats, lighting cues, or ceremony moments — with the same visual snap as a CO2 jet.

Burst Timing

Each burst lasts 8–10 seconds at full output, producing fog at a rate of 32,000 cu ft/min. After a burst, the heater recovers in approximately 20–40 seconds before the next full-power blast. This cycle lets you fire multiple bursts per minute — fast enough for beat-synced effects in a DJ set or timed ceremony moments at a wedding.

RGB LED System

27 × 3W RGB 3-in-1 LEDs illuminate the fog column from the base of the nozzle. The LEDs light up the fog as it exits — coloring the entire column from bottom to top. Full RGB mixing via DMX gives you any color. In DMX mode, the LEDs operate on dedicated channels with individual red, green, and blue control plus auto mode and strobe, so you can program color changes independently of fog output.

Fog Fluid

The Aurora Jet uses fast-dissipating vertical fog fluid (also called "quick smoke" or "quick dissipating" fluid). This type of fluid produces fog with better light transmission — brighter, more visible columns — and dissipates within seconds, which is what enables the instant-stop effect. Standard fog fluid will work but may produce slower-dissipating fog that lingers after the burst. For best results with the instant-stop effect, use fast-dissipating fluid. SurgeFX Nebula™ fog fluids are recommended.

Setup

  1. Choose your mounting orientation. The Aurora Jet can sit on a flat surface (fog shoots up), hang inverted from truss (fog shoots down), or mount on a wall (fog shoots horizontally). The reversible fluid tank prevents leaking in any position.
  2. Install the fluid tank. Mount the 2.5L tank at the appropriate end of the machine for your orientation. Fill with fast-dissipating vertical fog fluid.
  3. Plug into a 110V outlet.
  4. Wait 4 minutes for initial warm-up. The indicator will show when the heater is ready.
  5. Connect DMX (optional) — 3-pin connector, 8 channels.
  6. Fire on cue via DMX, wireless remote, or onboard panel.

Control Modes

  • DMX512 (8CH): Full control over fog output, LED color (R/G/B individual), LED auto mode, dimming, and strobe. Program beat-synced fog bursts and color changes from your console. Link multiple Aurora Jets to the same DMX universe for synchronized multi-point fog columns.
  • Wireless Remote: Trigger fog bursts from anywhere in the venue. One remote can control multiple units simultaneously — all powered-on machines will respond to the same remote signal.
  • Onboard Panel: LCD display for standalone operation. Set fog output level (1–100), DMX address, and LED colors directly on the machine. No external controller needed.

Burst Cycle

After the initial 4-minute warm-up, the Aurora Jet fires 8–10 second bursts of vertical fog. After each burst, the heater recovers in approximately 20–40 seconds before the next full-power blast. This means you can fire roughly 1–2 full bursts per minute during sustained use. For events with specific timed moments (ceremony reveals, song drops, etc.), the reheat cycle is fast enough to have the machine ready for each cue.

Multi-Unit Linking

Multiple Aurora Jets can be linked via DMX for synchronized multi-point fog columns — a common setup for stages, wedding aisles, and DJ rigs. Set all units to the same DMX address for synchronized firing, or assign different addresses for independent control of each unit.

Fluid & Maintenance

  • Use fast-dissipating vertical fog fluid for best instant-stop performance. Standard fog fluid will work but produces slower-dissipating fog.
  • The 2.5L tank provides approximately 2.5 hours of intermittent use at the ~1L/hr consumption rate.
  • Empty the fluid tank before transporting — even though the tank is leak-proof when mounted, emptying it prevents any possibility of leakage during transit.
  • The machine has a low-fluid auto shutoff — when the tank runs dry, the pump stops automatically to prevent damage.
  • The overheat auto shutoff triggers at 356°F (180°C) as an additional safety layer.
  • Allow 30–45 minutes of cooling after use before moving or storing.
  • Clean internal fluid lines after every 40–100 hours of operation to prevent buildup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this need CO2?
No. The Aurora Jet runs on electricity and fog fluid only. No CO2 tanks, no compressed gas, no hoses. Plug in, fill the fluid tank, and fire. This is the primary advantage over CO2 jets — you get similar visual effects without the ongoing gas costs and logistics.

How high does it spray?
26–33 feet (8–10 m) vertical fog column.

What does "instant stop" mean?
When you release the trigger, the fog column disappears within approximately one second. Unlike traditional fog machines that leave lingering haze, the Aurora Jet's fog dissipates almost immediately — giving you sharp, defined fog bursts you can time to music, lighting, or ceremony cues. This requires fast-dissipating vertical fog fluid for best results.

Can I hang it upside down from truss?
Yes. The Aurora Jet is designed for multi-orientation mounting — floor (up), truss-hung (down), or wall (horizontal). The reversible fluid tank can be installed at either end of the machine, so fluid feeds correctly in any orientation. It will not leak when properly mounted.

How long between bursts?
Each burst lasts 8–10 seconds. The heater recovers in approximately 20–40 seconds before the next full-power blast. Initial warm-up from cold is 4 minutes.

How much fluid does it use?
Approximately 1 qt/hr (1L/hr). The 2.5L tank provides about 2.5 hours of intermittent use.

What fluid does it use?
Fast-dissipating vertical fog fluid (sometimes called "quick smoke" or "quick dissipating" fluid). This type is specifically designed for vertical jet machines — it produces brighter columns with better light transmission and dissipates quickly for the instant-stop effect. Standard fog fluid will work but fog may linger longer. SurgeFX Nebula™ fog fluids are recommended.

Can I control the LED color separately from the fog?
Yes. In DMX mode (8CH), fog output and LED color are on separate channels. You can run the LEDs for ambient color lighting without firing fog, or program both independently.

Can one remote control multiple machines?
Yes. All powered-on Aurora Jets will respond to the same wireless remote signal. For independent control of multiple units, use DMX with different addresses.

Is it safe to use indoors?
Yes, but be aware that fog may trigger smoke detectors. For venues with sensitive fire alarm systems, coordinate with facility management. The instant-stop feature helps — fog dissipates quickly, reducing accumulation. Also ensure adequate ceiling height for the 26–33 ft spray.

How heavy is it?
~19 lbs (8.65 kg) with a built-in carry handle. One person can easily transport and set up.

What happens if the fluid runs out?
The machine has a low-fluid sensor that automatically shuts off the pump when the tank runs dry — protecting the heating element from damage. There's also an overheat auto shutoff at 356°F (180°C) as a secondary safety measure.

Aurora Jet vs. traditional fog machine?
Traditional fog machines produce lingering horizontal haze that fills a room. The Aurora Jet produces vertical fog columns that disappear on command — a completely different effect. Think of it as a CO2 jet replacement, not a fog machine replacement. If you need room-filling haze, a traditional fog or haze machine is the right tool. If you need dramatic, timed vertical blasts, the Aurora Jet is designed for exactly that.
