Custom Gobo Service: Send us your logo file (AI, PDF, PNG, or high-resolution JPG) and we'll create a custom glass gobo for your projector. Single-color gobos project brightest (white light through your design). Full-color gobos are available for multi-color logos at additional cost.

How Gobo Projection Works
A gobo (short for "goes before optics") is a small glass disc with your logo or design etched into it. The projector shines high-intensity LED light through the gobo, projecting your image onto any surface. The result: a crisp, clean logo display that's impossible to ignore.
Single-Color vs. Full-Color Gobos
| Gobo Type |
Best For |
| Single-Color (White) |
Maximum brightness, sharpest contrast. Ideal for text, simple logos, monograms, and high-visibility branding. The projected color matches the LED (cool white). |
| Full-Color (Multi-Color) |
Reproduce your exact brand colors. Best for complex logos with multiple colors. Slightly lower brightness than single-color, but visually striking. |
Gobo Design Tips
-
Black = No Light: Black areas in your design block light and won't appear in the projection. White/transparent areas let light through and appear illuminated.
-
Keep It Simple: Bold, high-contrast designs project best. Fine details and thin lines may not be visible at long distances.
-
File Format: Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) work best. High-resolution PNG or JPG (300+ DPI) are also acceptable.
-
Safe Area: Keep your design within the 25mm image area of the gobo. Designs that extend to the edge may be clipped.
Replacing Gobos
Swapping gobos is simple — remove the lens assembly, slide out the old gobo, insert the new one, and refocus. No tools required. This lets you change your projection for different events, seasons, or promotions.
How far can it project?
The Logo Pro 350 projects clearly up to 230 feet (70m) in dark conditions. In bright ambient light, effective range is shorter — typically 50–100 feet depending on lighting. The darker the environment, the more vivid the projection.
How big will my logo be?
Projection size depends on distance. With the standard 20° lens, the formula is: Distance × 0.35 = Projection Diameter. For example, at 30 feet, your logo will be approximately 10.5 feet wide. Closer = smaller and brighter. Farther = larger but dimmer.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes. The Logo Pro 350 is rated IP65 weatherproof — protected against dust, rain, and humidity. It's designed for permanent outdoor installation on building facades, storefronts, and outdoor event spaces.
Does the gobo come with the projector?
The projector ships ready to use, but the custom gobo is ordered separately. Contact SurgeFX support with your logo file to order a custom glass gobo. Production takes 1–2 weeks after artwork approval.
Can I project in color?
Yes — with a full-color glass gobo. Single-color gobos project in white (the natural LED color) and are the brightest option. Full-color gobos reproduce your exact brand colors but are slightly less bright. Both options are available.
Static or rotating — which should I use?
Static is best for professional, permanent branding — clean and easy to read. Rotating is attention-grabbing and works well for promotions, events, or when you want movement to draw the eye. You can switch modes anytime via the remote control.
How do I focus the image?
Turn the manual focus ring on the front of the projector until your logo appears sharp. Focus once during installation, and you're set — no need to adjust unless you change the projection distance.
How long does the LED last?
The LED is rated for 50,000 hours of operation — that's over 5 years of continuous 24/7 use, or 13+ years at 10 hours per day.
Can I mount it on a ceiling or wall?
Yes. The included mounting bracket allows wall, ceiling, or pole mounting. The bracket is adjustable, so you can angle the projector to hit your target surface precisely.
Aim for Dark Surfaces
Gobo projections look best on light-colored, matte surfaces — white or light gray walls, concrete floors, and neutral building facades. Dark surfaces absorb light and reduce visibility. Glossy surfaces can create glare.
Night vs. Day
At 350W, this projector is visible during dusk and evening hours even with some ambient light. For true daytime visibility on bright surfaces, you'd need higher wattage (500W+). Plan your installation for the lighting conditions where your projection will be most seen.
Calculate Your Size
Use this formula: Distance (ft) × 0.35 = Projection Diameter (ft). Want a 15-foot logo? Mount the projector about 43 feet away. Want a tighter 5-foot logo? Mount at about 14 feet. Closer mounting = brighter, sharper image.
Keep It Simple
Bold logos with thick lines and high contrast project best. Fine details, thin fonts, and intricate artwork may not be readable at distance. If your logo has fine elements, consider a simplified version for projection use.
Secure Your Mount
The Logo Pro 350 weighs about 20 lbs. Make sure your mounting bracket is rated for the weight and securely fastened — especially for outdoor installations where wind can create stress on the mount.
Use a Timer or Smart Plug
For permanent installations, connect the projector to a timer or smart plug. Run it during business hours or evening hours only — no need to project to an empty parking lot at 3 AM. This extends LED life and saves energy.
Order Backup Gobos
If your logo is critical to your business, order a spare gobo. Glass gobos are durable but can break if dropped during installation or replacement. Having a backup means no downtime if something happens.
Test Before Permanent Install
Before drilling holes and running permanent wiring, do a test setup. Clamp or hold the projector in the planned position, power it on, and check the projection size, focus, and brightness. Adjust your plan as needed before committing to a permanent mount.
